However, similar to other construction companies across the industry, we've noticed that it is still very much a male dominated career option.
The construction industry is made up of just 12.5% of women
The GMB union has stated that just one in eight people working in construction are women. With this comes the gender pay gap, difficulty securing positions and a lack of encouragement by leaders that affect other fields.
The same data collected also revealed that closing this gap could take another 200 years, which is why we believe everybody needs to do their part.
Apprenticeships
As industry professionals, we believe that every company should be doing their best to support, encourage and promote women in the construction industry.
Campbell Construction Crieff Ltd. is honoured to be in a position where we can offer apprenticeships to help people learn the skills they need to succeed in construction. Supporting women in our field has been something we've been passionate about for a long time.
We hope by offering this education and this start in the industry we can help act as role models to young women looking for their first steps into a trade, and to other companies to do their bit and help promote real change.
